The Shenendehowa Nordic Club will host a classic technique NYSSRA – Nordic point series race on Sunday, February 17 at the Saratoga Biathlon facilities, 3016 South Shore Road in the Town of Day. It is a fun experience for any age group from BKYSL to Masters racers with a fun and friendly group hosting.
For more experienced competitors this is a good race to accumulate your season ranking points. Race starts at 11 AM; the youth race immediately follows (aiming for 1 PM).
Family members and friends are needed to help with the race. We need folks to bake brownies, cookies ahead of time. Race day we will need help with parking, registration, start line, trail spotter, finish line, runners, bib collectors, photographer, concession stand, and help with running the youth race. Volunteer for your favorite job by calling Eric Hamilton at 383-8565 before the good positions are taken. Once the race is finished you are invited to go for a ski on perfectly machined rolling trails in the foothills of the Adirondacks.
DIRECTIONS: Take route 9N north out of Saratoga 12 miles toward Corinth. Rt 9N crosses railroad tracks. Take the next left which is Mosher Road (County Rt 10) 8.7 miles to the end and bare left on South Shore Road. Drive 1.2 miles and look for a driveway on the left with a sign for “the race”.
