We were pleased to host a fun and safe NYSSRA – Nordic Championship Qualifier at Saratoga Biathlon in Day, N Y.  There were a couple of inches of granular snow over an icy base with temperatures in the high teens.

The Try-It Citizen’s Race is to raise funds for local research to find a cure for brain disease including Multiple Sclerosis.  The course was a 3.5 k loop.  Finishing in order were:  First Place Female – Gina Huneck – Gold; First Place Male – Thomas Moehring – Gold; Second Place Female – Grace Kinkaid – Silver; and Third Place Female – Sabrina Kinkaid – Bronze.

The U16 race used two laps for 7 k:


All others had three laps for a 11 k:



Free Technique

Due to the continuing weather conditions the Shenendehowa Nordic Club will be hosting a free technique race on Sunday, January 24 with an 11 AM start.  We will be using a 3.3 k loop at Saratoga Biathlon.  On line registration will remain open until 11:45 PM on Friday evening January 22.  Register now.
