This is the crew that showed up the first day of the Shenendehowa Nordic Bill Koch Youth Ski League. These guys are full of energy and inspired with visions of our first dusting of snow last week. Notice the grass cover on the practice hill behind. When we do get snow this cover should hold the snow better than it did in past years.
There is still plenty of room and opportunities for more youth and a few more females would nicely balance out the club. Encourage family, friends and neighbors, anyone 4 to 13 to join in the fun on snow this season. Parents are also welcome and encouraged to join the fun!
Even before we have snow we will have fun and games that will build our confidence, endurance and balance as we move toward colder weather and fun surface conditions. Next week bring your guess for the date of our first snow fall of six inches or more. There are six prizes, Stewart’s Single Scoop gift certificates for the BKYSL member male and female, high school male and female, and parent male and female who come closest to the correct date without going beyond. Get your entries in now before it starts snowing again.
Also important to get your family’s Shenendehowa Nordic Club membership renewed. Do it now!
